We provide the above list, however, when we run out of shorts, we will not carry any more; you will need to purchase a on your own.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Other uniform items NOT covered by the fee that must be purchased separately by the student/parent
-Black socks (must be worn with the uniform and must come above the ankle)
-Black Bando Shoes. These can be purchased at Playground Music Store. They do not keep these in stock! Must be sized and ordered. Don’t wait until last minute to take care of this
-White towel to sit on in the stadiums, helps protect pants from rough/dirty surfaces.
Alteration fee: $5– elastic foot strap $13 hemming/elastic foot strap
***IMPORTANT***
NO UNIFORM WILL BE ISSUED UNTIL ALL RENTAL/PURCHASE FEES ARE PAID IN FULL!!! You will be fitted for a uniform and it will be set aside for you. IF YOU ARE A RETURNING STUDENT, AND STILL OWE ANY MONEY FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR, THAT AMOUNT WILL BE APPLIED TO YOUR RENTAL FEE!
We do not want finances to prevent any student from being a member of the Viking Band, if you have financial concerns, please see Mr. Folsom to work out a payment arrangement.
Uniform Care Requirements
Cleaning …recommended weekly, parents please help with this!!! Bangkok Cleaners will clean Uniform Jacket and Pants for half price!!!! Please be sure to thank them when you use their services! They will not clean Gauntlets!
Marching Uniform: Do NOT dry clean the marching uniform!!

The marching uniform can be cleaned at home. Machine wash, cold water, separately from other clothing. DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER! Use a stain remover (Spray-n-Wash, etc…NO bleach) if needed, especially on collars. Hang to dry. Press with warm (not hot) iron if needed. Gauntlets: Wash separately from uniform to keep the Velcro from damaging the jacket/pants material. Use stain remover (Spray-n-Wash). Lay gauntlets flat to dry. Press with warm iron.
The white gloves can and should be washed and or bleached on a regular basis.
Concert
Jacket: DRY CLEAN ONLY!!!
The shoulder braids and cross belt do not need to be taken to the cleaners, store them in a gallon size zip lock bag when not on the jacket.
Repairs
Occasionally, the buttons will come off the marching jacket/gauntlets. We have replacement buttons. There is no charge for the replacement. Other repairs will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Spares: Students will not be allowed to march without a full uniform.
The band parent in charge of uniforms carries a limited number of spare gloves, gauntlets, and socks to all performances. Gloves and socks can be purchased for $3 a pair, gauntlets will be loaned out and must be returned after the game or performance. The student is responsible for the loaned gauntlets. If the student cannot pay at the time, the item will be charged to their band account. Due to space limitations, spare hats are not brought to games or performances.
Uniform Return
All rental uniform jackets and pants will be returned to the band room CLEAN and in the dry cleaners bag with the receipt attached and with the student’s name and the next year’s grade level clearly marked on the garment bag within two (2) weeks of the last performance. If you drop band, the uniform is due within two weeks of your class change.

REPLACEMENT COSTS
If you lose it, or damage it, you pay for it…. Marching Jacket ($120), Pants ($50), Gauntlets ($35), Concert Jacket ($225)
Uniform issue dates have not been set, but will probably be the later part of July, watch for the newsletter and check the web site periodically for new information.
Upperclassmen will not be allowed to pick up uniforms during freshman fittings!

ATTENTION: SYMPHONIC BAND MEMBERS ONLY:
We are looking at the possibility of changing your concert season uniform to tuxes and long dresses, an extra rental fee (approximately $50) may be required. Further information will be announced as the year progresses.
Viking Band Uniform Care Agreement
I have read the uniform care requirements and understand that I am responsible for any loss or damage to the issued uniform and will pay the replacement cost of the damaged, lost, or unreturned item.
