Band Directors

Mr. Randy Folsom Band Director

Randy Folsom has served more than 20 years in the Okaloosa County School system.  Prior to serving as Director of Bands and Assistant Band Director with the Vikings, he served at Crestview High School and Richbourg Middle School -- also in Okaloosa County.  Mr. Folsom attended Troy State University where he received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees.  His professional affiliations include Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity, Music Educators National Conference, Florida Music Educators Association, and the Florida Bandmasters Association.

Daniel Smith has been the Assistant Director of Bands since January 2005.  Mr. Smith is a graduate of Florida State University and was one of the top students in its college of music.  His primary duties are the concert band, the 2nd jazz band, and the AP Music Theory course.  Mr. Smith is the music arranger and visual designer for the Fort Walton Beach Marching Band and directs the Winter Guard and the Winter Percussion Ensemble. Mr. Smith is also a former visual staff member of Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps. He is widely sought after as an arranger and designer.
